Starlight Knitting Society is the newest Portland yarn shop by former Lint owner, Melissa Nelson.  We are a cozy neighborhood shop stocked with yarns you'll love, friendly staff and great space to hang out.  Come by and have some tea with us as you knit by the fire.

Throwback Sweater Class - Saturdays, February 2, 9, 16, & 23. 10-12pm

CLASSES

Our Classes are held inside our cozy shop or in our upstairs classroom at 7028 SE 52nd Ave. Refreshments are available. Some classes have minimum and maximum enrollment requirements, so please sign up early to ensure your spot.  If you must miss a class, we cannot guarantee makeups. Contact your instructor for individual arrangements. No credit is offered for no shows. 

All students receive a 10% discount on class supplies.

We want everyone to have the opportunity to learn to craft, so scholarships are available for all of our classes. You can let us know if you need assistance by sending us an email.

Throwback Sweater Class - Saturdays, February 2, 9, 16, & 23. 10-12pm

Level 2: You can knit, purl, increase, and decrease

This squishy cardigan by Andrea Mowry is sure to be a favorite knit. It combines a worsted weight solid with self striping Dream State from Spincycle Yarns for extra color play. It will allow you to build basic sweater skills while learning 2 sided stranded colorwork, chart reading, & short rows. This beauty is knit seamlessly from the top down and is perfect for all skill levels.

Instructor: Simi Loyd

Materials: 980-1740 yards of worsted weight for the main color, 150 yards of 3 contrasting colors for the 2nd, Size US 7 & 8 - 32” circular needles and dpn’s (or magic loop), stitch markers, waste yarn or stitch holders, and a tapestry needle.
